This is the second of my small portrait studies/trials done a few years back of my book club. It’s an 8×8 inch canvas using oils.

Not sure why most of my paintings look better in person. It’s probably my lack of camera prowess. I do have a camera but can’t figure out how to use it well.

Am I the only one that is ticked off with this photo?
I understand that nude models both men and women are necessary for learning the figure, but I find this picture very demeaning and offensive to women.  Don’t get me started on the smugness of the men…

Wanted to work with colours more so played around until I liked them.

I love this little painting because I accomplished what I set out to do.  To make it loose as possible with a  big brush and make him recognizable.  His get away was painting...can you imagine how hard it would have been to get his mind on it?
